The story behind the Wees een Kind Foundation
Who we are
In 2009, we came into contact with an orphanage in Jakarta. The children lived in a shack, just 3 meters from a railway track. Overwhelmed by the poor living conditions, we told our children about it. Our dream of helping underprivileged children in Indonesia became concrete right then and there: together with our children and their friends, we founded the Wees een Kind Foundation.
Gradually it became clear that we have our own vision. That is why we decided to start our own children's home in Malang, Java. In addition to the children's home, we also started a hostel in the building, with the aim of using the income to finance the children's home.
Currently, 16 children live in our children's home. We teach them to dream about the future, but also want to offer them the opportunity to realize their dreams. Our vision is to give children not just a house, but also a home from which they can work towards their future. We are convinced that education can break the cycle of poverty.
11 of our children have now graduated and 2 are currently still studying at university. We see them growing into young adults who know what they want to do with their future.
And that is what we do it for!

Doelstelling
Het ondersteunen van weeshuizen in nood met middelen en management zodat er voor de kinderen een menswaardige leefsituatie ontstaat en hen weer toekomstperspectief geboden wordt.
Hoe gaan wij dit bereiken?
Om de doelstelling, visie en missie te behalen, richten de activiteiten van de stichting zich eerst vooral op geldinzameling en zorgen voor naamsbekendheid. Geld inzamelen gebeurt vooral door collectes en het zoeken van vaste donateurs.
